This is a simple post.
The number of laser/IPL sessions needed to remove hair follicles permanently depends entirely on the fluence you apply.
That’s it – in a nutshell!
As I’ve said before, a ‘low’ fluence can only affect follicles down to a certain depth. So this fluence can only kill a relatively small number of follicles in each session.
A higher fluence will deliver more energy to the deeper part of the dermis, and so will kill deeper follicles. This means that more follicles will die as a result.
It really is that simple! Higher fluences (at any wavelength and any pulsewidth between 1 and 100ms) will kill more follicles each and every time.
Don’t forget to apply skin surface cooling to protect the upper layers, especially with higher fluences.
That’s it!
Hope this helps,
Mike.
