I heard an interesting story today. One of my trainees has been told by her laser supplier not to use my recommended fluences for hair removal – “they are too high”, they said. “Your laser can’t do that for long periods of time. Mike doesn’t know our machines like we do…”
Well, that bit is true – I don’t know all the various machines out there. They are so many these days!
But, I do know how this procedure works. And I’ve spent countless hours, days and weeks trying to figure out the ‘best’ parameters to use – fluence, pulsewidth, spot size, wavelength etc. I even wrote a book about it (which I am updating now with new information!)
So, I have a reasonable idea about how to remove hair using light energy. Plus, many of my trainees tell me how much their results have improved after training with me and following my recommended protocols.
Yet, some companies tell their customers that my protocols are “wrong” for their lasers.
Well, that may be the case…
But it’s not my protocols that are wrong as clearly evidenced by many results. It’s the devices! They don’t appear to be ‘up to the job’. Imagine buying a new car and the salesperson tells you stay below 50 mph because it’s “safer” or “it’s not designed for high speeds.” How would you feel about your new toy?
That’s precisely what these laser suppliers are doing!!!
Why?
Hope this helps,
Mike.

Exactly! Not just the manufacturers who don’t know, but salons in the big wide world too! This is why we at SkinteX receive many enquiries from the [disheartened and frustrated] public who have spent hundreds of pounds on hair removal treatment, having had 20 or 30 sessions……whereas we save them this [and correct their misinformation] by giving them ‘an effective permanent removal of 4-7 treatments’.
Proof, your recommended protocols and fluence levels work! Keep up the good work!
