We spit when we speak!
Gross!!!!
But we do. We can’t help it. It’s perfectly natural but we cannot see those tiny droplets of saliva in the air – usually.
But, if you have a nice, big, powerful, visible laser, then you can see the spit, in flight!
Some scientists did exactly this. The video below shows what they observed…
These guys showed, quite clearly, that simple speech can eject many tiny droplets of saliva which could carry viruses, including the coronavirus. This isn’t rocket science – it’s laser science! It really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, yet there are people out there who don’t believe it!
So, how do we mitigate against this spit?
Simple….. masks!
