The New York Times published an excellent article showing the fluid dynamics of contaminated air in a school roon, under various conditions of ventilation and flitration.
The simulation reveals how the concentration of viral particles changes in a room of students, when one is infected with a virus. The same results would apply to a laser suite generating plume which could contain noxious substances.
